sustainability

Why is this so important?

On average each wedding creates 400 pounds of waste. With 2.3 million weddings in the US every year, that adds up to 1.5 billion pounds of trash. Imagine the impact that could be made if each couple made just one sustainable swap in their wedding.

Foam Free

At Kalie Nicole Events, weā€™re dedicated to remaining floral foam free. Floral Foam is a single use item that takes 1000 years to break down; when it does it turns into tiny micro plastics. Weā€™ve spent time and money to find the best ways to create beautiful arrangements and installations without the use of this toxic substance!

Local Blooms

80% of cut flowers in the US are imported, which creates more and more carbon emissions. To help reduce this, we make locally sourced blooms a priority in your wedding floral.

Compost + Recycling

I do my very best to combat extra waste by reusing, recycling and composting everything I can!

I compost floral scraps and use as many compostable alternatives as possible, such as using compostable zip-ties.

I reuse chicken wire, vases and vessels as many times as I can. My brass collection is entirely made up of vintage finds, giving these beautiful pieces a second life .

All cardboard is recycled and I even added an additional recycling service called Ridwell to recycle hard to recycle items - like plastic floral sleeves.
